It depends on whether your treatment is medically necessary or cosmetic. When a duplex ultrasound documents venous reflux and you have symptoms, ablation procedures (RFA, VenaSeal, Varithena) and microphlebectomy are typically covered by insurance, and you pay only your plan's deductible and coinsurance. Cosmetic-only spider vein sclerotherapy is generally not covered and is offered as transparent self-pay. Our published self-pay figures are available on request.
Self-pay pricing by treatment
| Treatment | Self-pay (all-in) |
|---|---|
| Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) | Request a written quote |
| VenaSeal | Request a written quote |
| Varithena | Request a written quote |
| Sclerotherapy (cosmetic spider veins) | Request a written quote |
| Microphlebectomy | Request a written quote |
All pricing is confirmed in writing at consultation. We do not publish estimates we cannot honor. Most patients with ultrasound-documented reflux are covered by insurance; self-pay pricing chiefly applies to cosmetic spider vein treatment.

It depends on the procedure and whether your treatment is medically necessary. When a duplex ultrasound documents venous reflux and you have real symptoms (pain, swelling, skin changes) treatments such as RFA, VenaSeal, Varithena and microphlebectomy are typically covered by most major plans and Medicare, so most patients pay only their plan's deductible and coinsurance. Cosmetic-only spider vein treatment is generally not covered and is offered as self-pay. Our published self-pay figures are available on request.
Medically necessary vein treatment usually is. When ultrasound documents venous reflux and you have symptoms, ablation procedures (RFA, VenaSeal, Varithena) and microphlebectomy are typically covered by most major plans and Medicare, often after a short trial of conservative therapy such as compression. Our team verifies your benefits and handles pre-authorization before anything is scheduled. Free insurance verification is available.
Usually not. Honestly: spider veins are most often a cosmetic concern, and cosmetic sclerotherapy is generally not covered by insurance; it is offered as a self-pay service. The exception is when spider or reticular veins are tied to underlying venous reflux documented on ultrasound, in which case the medically necessary portion of treatment may be covered. We'll tell you which category you fall into before you commit.
Our self-pay pricing is designed to be transparent and all-in for the procedure: the physician's fee, the in-office procedure, and routine follow-up. We tell you in writing what is and isn't included before you commit, no surprise bills.
For medically necessary vein treatment, yes; it is a qualified medical expense, so funds from a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) can typically be applied to your out-of-pocket cost or self-pay price. Purely cosmetic spider vein treatment may not qualify; check your specific plan rules.
Yes. For cosmetic treatment or any out-of-pocket balance, we offer financing through Cherry, with monthly payment options. See our financing page for details.
